Pygmy Corydora – Tiny, Peaceful Bottom Dwellers for Nano & Planted Tanks

The Pygmy Corydora (Corydoras pygmaeus) is one of the smallest and most beloved freshwater bottom dwellers in the aquarium hobby. With their adorable size, peaceful nature, and shoaling behavior, these miniature catfish are perfect for nano tanks, planted aquariums, and community setups.

Unlike many Corydoras, Pygmy Corys don’t just stick to the bottom—they actively swim in the middle and lower levels of the tank, adding constant motion and charm. Best kept in groups of 6 or more, they thrive in stable, clean water with soft substrate and gentle filtration.
